Open Message to Clients & Referrals:
Hello! Hope this finds you well. It is hard to believe, but I have been practicing law now since 1984 -- a lot of years! I want to thank you for your kindness and consideration and to express my appreciation for the confidence and trust that my clients & referrals have placed in me. I love the practice of law which I consider to be an honor and a privilege. I intend to continue for as long as I am able to provide the highest quality of care and service.
I am proud to report that I have received the highest rating for both skill and integrity from many organizations, including Martindale-Hubbell, Lawyers.com, Avvo and the American Institute of Legal Counsel..
At the annual meeting of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, I was recognized as a "Leader in the Law". The purpose of the award is to recognize women lawyers across the state who have made impacts in their communities through their legal service and community activities. Over the years, I am particularly proud of that designation as I was the first Hillsborough County attorney to receive this statewide recognition.
I was honored to be the second recipient of the Outstanding Mentor Award and the Friend of HAWL Award, both from the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, :
By far the most exciting award I received was from the Hillsborough County’s Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court. They honored me with a Professionalism Award - the first that has ever been awarded! The nomination criteria included, "an attorney who has consistently demonstrated honesty, integrity, fairness, courtesy, ... and who has earned the highest respect among local lawyers and judges for his or her commitment to professionalism."
For this award, I received a unanimous nomination by the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers and was unanimously selected by the Judicial Circuit Court’s Professionalism Committee after due consideration of many other worthy candidates. With more than a little fanfare, they surprised me with the award presentation at the annual Bench Bar Membership Luncheon which was attended by about 500 lawyers and judges. I was totally over-whelmed! It was an amazing experience for me; but the most meaningful part of the celebration were the messages from my clients and friends I received in response to the news of the award. I am so grateful for the loving support I have received.
My husband, Tom, is now retired and is no longer willing to spend his summers in Florida. He has built a summer home for us in Michigan, the State where I was born and raised. I love my practice and have no desire to retire, but I do join Tom in Michigan as my schedule permits. I was recently sworn in as an attorney in Michigan -- mostly to help my friends and family who still live there.
The last bit of news I want to share is that I have a new office location. My addresses are on the contact page. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about these locations.
It would be my pleasure to help you in any way I could in the future so please feel free let me know if an opportunity ever presents itself. Please accept my warmest wishes to you and yours for all the best!
